Olcott Schools Cricket Tournament (Men’s) – 2022
UAE Sokians won the Olcott Memorial Trophy for the 5th consecutive year.
Dharmasoka College – Ambalangoda defeated Dharmapala College – Pannipitiya in the finals of the United Arab Emirates Olcott Schools Cricket Tournament – 2022 and retained the trophy for the fifth time in a row.
Dharmapala College scored 42 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 5 overs. Dharmasoka College managed to restrict Dharmapala college inning to modest score thanks to a hat-trick taken by Sudara Deshantha in his over and excellent bowling and fielding by the rest of the team members.
Dharmasoka College experienced openers managed to reach the target with exhibited batting skills and won the match in 2 overs and 2 balls without loosing a single wicket.
The Dharmasoka College team consisted of many talented and experienced players. We had Pasindu Wanniarachi and Shashika Suren who are very popular players in the club matches in the UAE. Suraj Pradeep Zoysa, Sudara Deshantha, Gihan Perera and Kasun Maduranga are also a bunch of excellent players who represented the school U19 cricket team of Dharmasoka College – Ambalangoda.

It was amazing to see a large crowd of Sokians and past pupils of the neighboring schools in Ambalangoda who are currently in the UAE supporting, cheering and motivating our very own cricket team. This sure took our memories back to the golden days of the School Cricket Big Match.
Olcott Schools Cricket Tournament (Women’s) – 2022
Women’s team of Dharmasoka College – Ambalangoda won the championship of the first ever Olcott Ladies Cricket Tournament organised by the past pupils of the Olcott Schools living in the UAE. The special thing about this match was that Dharmasoka College women team played against all the other Olcott schools combined
women team and Dharmashoka team managed to win the match with huge margin. Dharmasoka College Women’s team scored 78 runs in 5 overs without losing any wicket.
Women’s team of other combined Olcott schools scored 41 runs in 5 overs.
Women’s team of Dharmasoka College consisted of Old Girls of the school and even wives and daughters of old boys of the school.
Lashini Chehara the captain of the team scored 30 runs not out while Dilani and Champa marked excellent batting and fielding skills of Sokians.
