Past Pupils of Dharmasoka and Devananda Colleges adjoin together to organize their first project in UAE on 20th October 2017 at Bahya Sanctuary in Abu Dhabi.
Bahya Sanctuary is a non-profit animal welfare organization located in al Bahia, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. It’s main goal is to rescue and rehabilitation of abandon, abused, neglected, injured and unwanted Horses, Ponies, Dogs, Cats including adoption of homeless pets into nurturing, responsible, and permanent homes. General cleaning and maintenance was done by volunteers and however since last four (04) years they have not carried out the major cleaning and maintenance works at whole area at once due to the none availability of volunteers to undertake as a whole.
As such today they are in need of group of such volunteers to support their in house team to facilitate those abandon, abused & neglected animals to provide better living environment.
Consequently, as requested by Bahya Sanctuary management, Sokians taken the initiative to undertake this cleaning campaign as part of its corporate social responsibility project and delighted to join hands with brotherly Nandians for the first time ever in United Arab Emirates. Accordingly the cleaning campaign was scheduled as follows;
Venue: Bahya Sanctuary, Al Bahya, Abu Dhabi.
Date : 20 October 2017
Time : 9 am to 5 pm
All Sokians, Nandians, their families, relatives and friends were invited to attend for this cleaning campaign.
Though at the beginning of the day, we had only 25 attendance where majority of them were Nandians and subsequently commence the cleaning of water pond which is being using to feed the animals in the sanctuary. However consistently the participants were entering into Bahya Sanctuary and by 12 noon Sokians head count was increased to 50 along with their families, relatives and friends where Nandians including their families, relatives and friends headcount was reached to 40. First minor injury was reported by then whilst repairing the breakdown water pump. As remarkably total headcount is increased the maximum headcount taken around 3pm where nearly 100 participants were attending the cleaning campaign. Second minor injury was reported after bitten by a bee. At the end of the day total attendance were remained still nearly 50 during the event conclusion.
Another DCPPA-UAE event is concluded with brotherly Nandians in a successful manner and with zero major injuries except few minor ones. We are delighted to inform that Sanctuary owners are very much pleased the team effort displayed along with the children.
