DCPPA – UAE held their second (2nd) Annual General Meeting on 12th January 2018 at Hilton Garden Inn Hotel, Al Mina, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

 

The event was started with honoring to both national anthems of Sri Lanka and the United Arab Emirates and followed by lighting the traditional oil lamp and one-minute silent to tribute war heroes who sacrifice their lives to protect our motherland during three-decade War.

 

Subsequently, President inaugurates the event verifying the quorum which requires to formally commence the Annual General Meeting for DCPPA – UAE. 

 

The annual report was presented by past President Mr. Indralal de Silva and Treasure report was presented by Mr. Buddhika Rasanjana, Past Treasurer, which were subsequently approved by Sokians.

 

In accordance with the constitution, 12 Executive Members were elected including President, Secretary, Treasury, Vice President, Assistant Secretary for the Year 2018. Following to the three nominations per the authority provided by the constitution to the President, Secretary, and Treasurer, three Members were appointed and accordingly Executive Board for 2018 comprise as follows;

Vice President: Mr. Kanishka Priyantha

 

Secretary: Mr. Susantha Kumarage

Assistant Secretary: Mr. Chamil Mendis

 

Treasurer: Mr. Duminda Samarathunga

Mr. Kumara Alwis

An important event was held forthwith awarding founders and pioneers of DCPPA – UAE for their commitment and satisfaction during past ten years formalizing, lighting the Alma mater in UAE and preparing a platform for all Sokians residing in UAE to gather and pay gratitude to School. Accordingly, ten (10) past pupils were selected and awarded for their commitment during past years.

An outstanding number of 65 personnel have attended the event and Annual General Meeting was concluded with honoring and respecting to the School anthem, Viduhal apa mavu Dharmasoka siri laka sudilewa…..

 

Finally, Sokian Night was held and continue up to midnight with live musical DJ performance.
